Our Class Styles

Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates + Barre in Crosby

Hot yoga is the practice of yoga and the integration of body, breath and mind in a heated room. During a hot yoga class you will perform a series of yoga postures with the intention of increasing strength, balance, flexibility and mental focus.

All of our classes are 1 hour long (unless otherwise stated as more) and beginner friendly but some are more physically challenging than others. Most of our classes are heated to either ‘warm’ or ‘hot’ unless it’s very hot weather.

Some are dynamic classes focused on increasing strength, balance and flexibility, some are gentle classes which prepare the body for rest, sleep and explore self regulation practices that can help manage stress and anxiety, and others are a mix of meditation, stillness and relaxation. I’ve added some general information below if you would like some help choosing a class to start with.

DYNAMIC HOT YOGA

Hot Power Yoga (at our studio) is fundamentally body weight postures (exercises) such as plank, standing postures and repeated increased, connected movement, linked with breath, and practised in our hot room. On a physical basis, it is very much much about building strength and stamina and also involves core work.

Hot Vinyasa Flow is more flowy, consisting of more traditional postures and movement such as sun salutations and standing balances.

Introduction to Pilates

IMG_4913.JPG

Pilates is a tough but low impact workout and is excellent for toning. If you have back, shoulder, hip or knee issues then Pilates is also a safer way to work out. Pilates is also excellent for post natal women. Research suggests that the regular practice of Pilates can significantly decrease lower back pain and improve the mobility and movement of people who suffer from chronic lower back pain. All in all, a win win! In our Pilates classes options are given for everyone (beginner, intermediate and advanced) so you are working out at your own level.

  • Monday 10am and 6.30pm and Friday 10am is Hot Pilates (in the hot room).

  • Wednesday 6.30pm Postnatal Pilates in in the Loft (not a hot class and is a separate course £50 for 5 sessions).

  • Just wear leggings/shorts and a vest for hot classes

  • Membership Options: PAYG, buy class bundles or pay monthly (no contract)

  • Hot Pilates runs on Mondays 10am & 6.30pm and Fridays 10am.

  • Postnatal Pilates runs on Wednesdays 6.30pm

Introduction to Barre

Barre is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Classes incorporate a ballet barre and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. Barre also focuses on high reps of small range movements. But the real difference between barre and other workouts are the isometric movements you perform - holding your body still while you contract specific muscles, until you shake and feel the burn! Brilliant for toning arms and legs and improving posture, Barre is it’s own reward!
